YUNG LEAN CONCERT

On the 12th of June, I got the chance to see Yung Lean perform in Ybor, FL aka Tampa. I have been listening to Lean for about a year and a half, so I am familiar with who he is and what kind of music he plays.
His new album Warlord came out in February right after my birthday (happy me) and soon after was the release for tour dates. Two of the dates being in Florida. Hallelujah. One of which I could attend with my friends.

So some background on the Infamous Yung Lean. . .
Yung Lean is from Sweden and is 19 years old. His top songs are “Ginseng Strip 2002”, “Kyoto”, & “Yoshi City”. His real name is Jonatan Leandoer HÃ¥stad. He owns a label which is Sad Boys Entertainment (SBE) with Yung Gud and Yung  Sherman. His music style is different from other rappers. Obviously, there is mentioning of drugs and other things in his songs so if you don’t like to hear that, I don’t think you would like his music.
But Hey, if you do, then welcome to the team.
Yung Lean basically created the SadBoys culture. Thus meaning aesthetically pleasing to the eyes of people. There's the random Arizona Tea bottles and futuristic color concepts.
All in All, Yung Lean is a successful guy who knows how to make music and is a great performer.

Pro of the Show: Yung Lean put on a great performance, you could say it was lit. I was so happy with the venue choice. It was at The Orpheum, Ybor. Big enough for a small crowd. I enjoyed the opening acts. Was hoping Lean would get on the stage and perform sooner, but it was all good. Didn’t have to wait long for him to perform. Doors opened at 7pm, and the show started around 8:30pm. I was worried about something happening in the club since only two days previous there were two terrible shootings in Orlando(#OrlandoStrong). The security did very well with checking personal items and scanning people. And I even got to touch his hand, so that made me very happy (haha). Lean even came back out to perform 2 more songs for an encore.
Con of the Show: Bought a VIP ticket for $40 vs. $20, and only got the option for higher seating, which wasn't even worth it. No Meet and Greet, nada. So that made me very mad.
Would I see him perform again? Hell yes.
Looking forward to more concerts to tell you guys about.

Long Distance Relationships told by GossipGirl

Here's the low-Down on how to survive a long distance relationship and what better way than to include GossipGirl gifs in it
LETS BEGIN

  1. It is super freaking hard to do
  2. Dont do it if you feel like he/she doesn't fully have their heart in it
  3. Patience
  4. Repeat number 3 over and over again, because you will need A LOT of it
  5. Try not to start little fights; they're the worst (this is mostly for the ladies cause we are petty sometimes and want something to complain about)
  6. Guys: OPEN UP TO YOUR BF/GF- this means talking about your day, what you did, etc. Your girlfriend isn't trying to grill you; she's just simply interested in what you did that day without her
  7. Trust each other, no lies, if you're lying to them who's to say they aren't lying to you, TRUST, PEOPLE, TRUST
  8. Set up days when you can see each other, try to make it monthly or every 2-3 weeks. It helps a lot. Trust me. The more often you see each other, the more you will feel like an actual couple. It also gives you guys some time to yourselves, and it makes up for the late night Skype calls and text messages
  9. You are going to hate seeing your friends with their bf/gf and when they complain about how they haven't seen each other in 2 days, you're going to want to slap them
  10. Have Netflix movie night dates, pop up Skype and start the movie at the same time as each other, and if you're like me you will fall asleep regardless but its the thought that counts
  11. Guys/Ladies send your bf/gf a gift (Ex: use Amazon to send it to their address, perfect way to give them a gift for a random reason, little gifts are great and make you feel happy)
  12. You must be willing to make it work, that's the key to this whole thing
  13. There will be some days that you want to be happy with someone else, but you have to think about how happy he/she makes you at the end of the day, would anyone be able to replace him/her? If you think someone else does, then you need to figure out what you're going to do to make yourself happy
  14. You will get depressed, you will feel like you're missing out on so much in his/her life, but in the end you will be together living under the same roof, sleeping in the same bed, happy.
  15. It won't always be rainbows and butterflies there will be rough patches for the relationship, but that's the reason why you make a good team together, you work through it, and if that fails then they weren't the one for you
  16. And if you just are too unhappy in the relationship ... but you still love each other deeply...
  17. Say I love you.

*HippoCampus*

I have no idea how I actually found this band. I just know it was about 3 months ago, and I now wanted to share them with you guys.

The band is indie rock from Minnesota and have an authentic sound, you could compare them to Young The Giant, which by the way makes a killer playlist, just saying.

Violet is my favorite song by them but also South and Suicide Saturday are there most well known songs.

Now, if you are currently intrigued by how their sound is ...Then maybe hopefully you are a lucky one and can see them on tour this summer!

Let me know what you guys think of them in the Comments! And spread  the word if you like them! They are on spotify as well so get to making that great playlist!

The Senioritis is Real

There's so much going on right now, its the end of my Junior year in high school and the clocks ticking down to my future. 314 Days from now I will be of age and able to be officially called an adult. Lately, I've been a little scared of college. Just the loans and price of college is enough to make me have heart palpitations.
So I have decided to put my Pinterest and Youtube searches to work and make my self happy again with the decision to go to college.
If there are any of you out there who go to the schools listed below please tell me your experiences! I could really use them right now honestly.

University of Central Florida

Area: Orlando, FL.

Tuition: $6,368

Location is about an hour away from where I live and is in the city which I lived almost my whole life until about 2 years ago.
I have always loved this campus, its gotten a lot bigger of the past 5 years which is crazy!
I also will have in state tuition and automatic enrollment into any Florida College when I complete my AA from a Community College/ State College, so that may be of use.

University of Central Los Angeles

Area: Los Angeles, CA. (5 miles from the Pacific Coast)

Tuition:  $35,631

*Private not for profit college

I absolutely love the look of the campus and the school spirit is crazy amazing.
Something I worry about with moving across the country is the price, but if I want to be happy and experience something new in a new location, the cost shouldn't make it not an option. Besides who wouldn't want to live in L.A, i'm just saying.

University of Southern California

Area: Los Angeles, CA

Tuition: Out Of State $47,562

I recently saw this school on someones Youtube video and the campus (@Katherout check out her channel, she has a lot of cool things to say about college life and experiences! Links right here : Katherouttings Katherout
I love Southern California, I honestly would never regret going back and living there because everything seems so perfect, when I went to San Diego 2 Spring Breaks ago I fell in love with it more than what I expected.
But since the school is still located in Los Angeles I am assuming the weather and vibes from the area are almost the same.
So those are my Top 3 College choices for the moment that I will choose from after I complete my AA, which should take about another year since I have 30/60 credit hours completed already ! *Throws hands in the air* Thank the lord for Dual Enrollment!
Comment if you go to one of these schools and recommend or if there are any other colleges I should look at! (:

Lana Baby

For those of you who know the infamous Lana Del Rey (Lizzie Grant) she has had her new album come out.. Honeymoon. Which came out on September 8th, 2015.

I have finally had the chance to sit down and listen to it. And I was expecting exactly what I heard on that album. Pure beauty. I don't believe Lana has ever had any song that hasn't met the standards to her previous works.

Currently the new song of the day is 'Freak' (track 6 on Spotify).

Her voice is just so god damn beautiful. And when the chorus hits its bliss to the ears. Now that a person opinion. This whole article is but Lana Del Rey did not disappoint me on this one.

Now on her YouTube video (Link can be found at very bottom) it includes a piece of "Clair De Lune" for around 3 minutes at the very end. But it is exclusively just for the video.
The film makers who created this video included lots of shades of pink and the girls from "Music to watch boys to" video. As well as Father John Misty the singer. Major key visuals in the music video was the Kool Aid looking drink (probably relating to the cult drink) that Lana pours into her mouth and blotting papers for LSD onto Father Jon Misty's tongue.

Alright thats all for todays music choice song,

bahbye

DOPE

So I have not posted anything in months.. I mean literally months,
I have been so busy with my new jobs and juggling my new classes for not only high school but 2 dual enrollment college classes. This year has not been easy for me academically wise but that’s okay. I’ve finally reached a point where I can take breather moments and enjoy the things I haven’t done in months (Like blogging).
TO start off on this post I will be talking about this new movie called DOPE, it is by far one of my favorite movies on Netflix right now. It captures the southern California stereotypes and transforms them into great characters who get caught in a bad situation but become entrepreneurs out of it. The story line is the best. But the reason i’m talking about the movie is because of the heavily influence on the 90’s nostalgia look that the main character and his friends are obsessed with.
There was a lot of miss matching that somehow worked well when put together. And the main character rocked the flat top perfectly. Just think Fresh Prince of Bel Air meets 2016.
Here are a few examples of what the looks in the movie reminded me of…

...
And of course the movie characters/actors themselves

Right after I watched this movie with my best friend we decided to change up our style a little bit so we hit up our Goodwill around the corner and transformed our look and absolutely fell in love with what we were starting to build our closet with, 90’s style.
SOO basically go watch DOPE because you will love it and appreciate the message the director wanted to give us.
My next post will be my Goodwill haul which wont be complete for at least another week maybe because I need to go out shopping again
bahbye
